About Us

Northeast Kansas Area Agency on Aging is a non-profit agency serving senior citizens and their families. Our service area includes the counties of Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, Jackson, Marshall, Nemaha and Washington. We believe seniors are valuable members of our communities.

Our mission is to be a single point of entry to senior services and issues for seniors and their families. It is sometimes difficult for seniors or their families to know where to turn or what questions to ask, or even what is available. Our staff believes there are no "stupid" questions. We are glad to answer your questions whether they are about what kind of services they can get in their home, the phone number for Social Security, Assisted living facilities in the area, or long term insurance. We understand this is a whole new experience and we are more than glad to help.

We believe seniors whould be able to remain in their homes if possible. Our case managers do an excellent job of assessing the needs of seniors and helping them set up appropriate services.

Services available through our agency are: congregate meals, home delivered meals, transportation, in-home services, information, health promotion programs and volunteer opportunities.

Our agency receives funding from Federal, State and local entitities. Our office is located in downtown Hiawatha, Kansas, at 526 Oregon St.
