Substance Abuse, Prevention, Treatment And Recovery

The Shawnee Regional Prevention and Recovery Services program Senior Prevention/Intervention Counseling and Education (S.P.I.C.E.) is being expanded into a statewide initiative through funding by Substance Abuse Prevention, Treatment and Recovery. The S.P.I.C.E. program assists professionals, caregivers and older adults coping with substance abuse or mis management of medications. With training, staff from each region of Kansas will be able to speak on the topic of substance abuse and the mismanagement of medications, offer educational material, perform on-site assesments, and provide resources for interventions and treatment.
